Quoting — embed your own quoting vendor

Connect the quoting tool your agency already uses so reps can quote without leaving the CRM. You bring the vendor; the CRM embeds it. Until you connect one, reps see setup instructions instead of a quoter.

Who this is for

An admin connects the quoter (one-time). Reps use it; they don't configure it.

Steps

  1. Open Sales Tools → Quoters (admin).
  2. Add a quoter: give it a name and paste the embed URL your quoting vendor gives you.
  3. Save. Reps now see it under Quoting for the matching product; nothing is connected until you add one.

Bring your own vendor

The CRM does not sell quotes or call a carrier's rating API for you. It gives your existing quoting vendor a home inside the app: you paste the vendor's embed URL and the CRM shows it in place. This is per-agency — your quoters are yours, other tenants don't see them.

Embedded, or a new tab

Most vendor quoters display inline as an embedded panel. Some vendors set X-Frame-Options / CSP headers that forbid being framed; when that happens the CRM opens the quoter in a new tab instead (target=_blank, rel=noopener) rather than showing a blank box. Either way the rep reaches the quoter from inside the proposal flow.

The no-quoter state is deliberate

If your agency has not connected a quoter, reps see plain setup instructions where the quoter would be — not an error and not a dead button. That is the signal to an admin that this step is still open.

How to check it worked

  • As a rep (not the admin view), open a lead's proposal / Quoting and confirm your vendor's quoter loads — embedded, or opening in a new tab.
  • If it opens blank, the vendor likely blocks framing; confirm the new-tab fallback opens the vendor's real quoter.

Common mistakes

  • Pasting the vendor's marketing page URL instead of the embeddable quoter URL the vendor gives you.
  • Expecting native carrier-API quoting — the CRM embeds a vendor, it does not rate policies itself.
