Virtual Closer vs Radiusbob
Radiusbob has been serving life and health agents since 2010 and was acquired by AgencyBloc in February 2023. It's insurance-specific, which already puts it ahead of every general CRM on this site, and it pairs lead management with a built-in dialer. The comparison here is narrower and more interesting than the others.

Radiusbob automates messages. Virtual Closer runs conversations. That distinction sounds like marketing until a lead replies "how much is this gonna run me" at 9pm and one of the two systems answers.
Where each one stops
| Capability | Virtual Closer | Radiusbob |
|---|---|---|
| Insurance-specific by design | Yes | Yes — since 2010 |
| Lead management and pipelines | A separate pipeline row per product line per household | Lead and policy tracking |
| Built-in telephony | Conference dialing with an abandonment brake | Built-in VoIP dialer, no separate setup |
| Outbound automation | AI that reads the thread and replies to what was said | Rule and trigger-based automation and autoresponders |
| Handles a reply, objection and booking unaided | Yes, and writes to the producer's calendar | Replies are worked by a person |
| Per-product AI prompts and follow-up ladders | Eight lines, each tuned separately | Automation by lead source, tag, carrier, location, coverage |
| Commission tracking | Rank levels, comp by carrier, product and age band, override spread | Commission tracking for agents and policies |
| Advance vs as-earned payouts and chargebacks | Payout calendar generated at the sale | Not modelled to this depth |
| Carrier commission reconciliation | Statements you upload, matched against projected comp | Commission tracking, not statement reconciliation |
| Persistency | By book, line of business and producer | Not modelled to this depth |
| Lead supply from the vendor | Real-time insurance leads at cost plus a disclosed fee | Not a lead vendor |
Radiusbob's pricing is deliberately absent here. It changes, and a comparison that quotes a competitor's price wrongly is worse than one that doesn't quote it at all. Ours is published in full, with no "request a quote" step — see what Virtual Closer costs.
1 · The comparison worth making is automation versus conversation
Radiusbob's automation is rule-based and configurable — trigger on a lead source, a tag, a carrier, a location or a coverage type, and send the message you wrote. That's a real capability and for many agencies it's enough.
The difference is what happens on the reply. A rule-based system delivers the message and waits for a human. Virtual Closer's AI reads the whole thread, answers the specific thing that was asked, handles the brush-off, and puts a time on the right producer's calendar — at 9pm, on a Sunday, without anyone awake. The messages are also written per product line, so a mortgage protection lead and a final expense lead get different openers, different objection handling and different follow-up spacing.
2 · Both track commission; they track different amounts of it
Radiusbob tracks commissions against agents and policies, which covers the essential question of what was earned. Virtual Closer models the structure underneath it: a rank ladder you define per line of business, the comp percentage for each carrier, product and age band at each level, the override spread measured from the level your agency is contracted at, advance versus as-earned payout calendars, and chargebacks booked automatically when a policy lapses early.
If your comp is straightforward, that depth is overhead. If you run levels, write across carriers with different grids, or take advances, it's the difference between knowing and estimating.
3 · One thing worth knowing before you compare
Radiusbob was acquired by AgencyBloc in February 2023, so the two are related products under one owner. If you're evaluating Radiusbob, it's worth also reading our comparison against AgencyBloc — the acquisition and servicing depth on that side of the house is relevant to where the product sits.
When you should choose Radiusbob instead
- You want simple and proven. It's been serving life and health agents since 2010 and does the fundamentals without ceremony.
- Your reps do the talking. If you have the staff to work replies and just need automation to start conversations and organise leads, that's a smaller, cheaper job than what we do.
- Your comp is simple. If you don't run rank levels or take advances, our comp model is depth you'd pay for and not use.
- You're already inside the AgencyBloc family. Staying within one vendor's ecosystem has real operational value.
- You need it to be inexpensive above all. That's a legitimate requirement and worth being honest about.
Questions
What is Radiusbob?
Radiusbob is an insurance CRM and agency management tool founded in 2010 for life and health insurance agents, combining lead management, policy and commission tracking, and a built-in VoIP dialer. It was acquired by AgencyBloc in February 2023.
How is Virtual Closer different from Radiusbob?
Both are insurance-specific with telephony built in. The difference is that Virtual Closer's outreach is an autonomous AI conversation rather than rule-based automation — it reads the thread, answers what was asked, handles objections and books the appointment without a human — and its commission model goes deeper, covering rank levels, comp by carrier, product and age band, override spread, advance and as-earned payout calendars, chargebacks and persistency.
Does Radiusbob have AI?
Its automation is rule and trigger-based — messages fire on conditions such as lead source, tag, carrier, location or coverage type. That is different from an AI that composes each reply from the conversation so far, which is the core of what Virtual Closer does.
Is Radiusbob part of AgencyBloc?
Yes. AgencyBloc acquired Radiusbob in February 2023, so if you are evaluating one it is worth reading about the other. Our AgencyBloc comparison covers the back-office and reconciliation side in more detail.
