Insurance agency valuation calculator

Agencies are priced as a multiple of EBITDA, and the multiple moves on size, retention and organic growth. This gives a range, not a number, because a real valuation turns on diligence findings no calculator can see.

How this is worked out

EBITDA × a multiple. The base multiple rises with size; retention above 93% adds to it and below 88% subtracts; organic growth above 10% adds, below 5% subtracts. The range is ±15% around the result.

This is a coarse model and the direction of each factor is the useful part, not the exact figure. Brokerage multiples span the mid-single digits to the mid-teens depending on size, growth and profitability, and firms with delegated authority trade far higher. Anything real involves diligence — carrier concentration, owner dependency, contract quality — that no input box captures.
