Feeding the Policy Analyzer — brochures, underwriting and provider networks

The Analyzer is only as good as the reference data behind it. Three separate sources: brochures for what plans do, underwriting for who a carrier will decline, provider networks for whether the client's doctor is covered.

Who this is for

Admins. Reps consume this on live calls; they don't maintain it.

Brochures — what the plan actually does

Upload carrier brochures and the benefits and pricing are extracted from them. This is where the Analyzer's factual answers come from, so a missing or outdated brochure shows up as the AI being vague or wrong about a plan — not as an error.

Underwriting — who gets declined

Carrier rulings per health condition. The point is that a rep knows BEFORE they pitch that a given carrier will decline, rather than finding out at application. This is the highest-value page of the three and the one most often left empty.

Provider networks — is their doctor in network

Add the carriers your agency writes with a link to each one's find-a-doctor page, so a rep can check mid-call. Small thing; removes a very common reason a sale stalls after the call.

If you can't find these pages in the menu

Brochures and Underwriting are insurance-specific, so they're kept out of the admin nav on the general product to avoid cluttering it for customers who don't sell health plans. The pages still work — the links in this article go straight to them, and they're admin-gated as normal.

Facts here, policy elsewhere

This is the factual layer. Your selling preferences — which carriers to lead with, your budget fallback, the warnings reps must hear — live in Sales Tools. Keep them separate: correcting a factual error with a house rule leaves the wrong fact in place for every other question.

How to check it worked

  • Ask the Analyzer about a plan you know well and check the details against the brochure.
  • Ask about a condition a carrier declines and confirm it says so unprompted.

Common mistakes

  • Leaving underwriting empty, so reps discover declines at application instead of before the pitch.
  • Letting brochures go stale after a plan-year change — the Analyzer keeps answering confidently from old data.
  • Fixing a factual gap with a house rule in Sales Tools rather than fixing the source.
