10DLC / A2P registration — why your texts need it
Carrier registration for business texting. Without it, your SMS gets filtered.
Steps
- Open A2P Registration from Phone Numbers, or the '10DLC' card on Getting Started.
- Step 1: register your Brand (your business identity). Takes 1–3 business days to verify.
- Step 2: register your Campaign (the use case for your texts). 24–48 hours to approve.
- Step 3: get your SMS number once the brand + campaign are approved.
What 10DLC is
10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) / A2P (Application-to-Person) is the carrier framework for business texting from normal local numbers. Carriers require every business sender to register a Brand (who you are) and a Campaign (what you'll text about). Unregistered A2P traffic is heavily filtered or blocked.
The three steps
Brand → Campaign → Number. The registration page shows your progress with a status indicator. Brand verification is the slow part (1–3 business days); campaign approval is faster (24–48 hours). Once both are approved you can provision an SMS number that actually delivers.
