How do I connect phone & texting?
Calls and texts run on Telnyx. Connect your Telnyx account, bring in your numbers, then get texting approved.
Steps
- Open Phone numbers. The first card is Connect your carrier.
- Paste your Telnyx API key and your Telnyx Public Key (two different values), plus your Messaging Profile ID for texting and your Voice Connection / Call Control App ID for calling. Save.
- In the card below it, import the numbers you already own in that Telnyx account. Keys with no number cannot send anything.
- Open A2P registration and submit your brand and campaign. Calling works as soon as a number is in. Texting starts when the registration is approved, usually a few business days.
- Send one text to your own phone and reply to it. Arriving on a handset, and the reply landing back here, is the proof.
One carrier
Telnyx is the only carrier the app calls and texts through. If your agency set the account up for you, there is nothing for you to connect: the numbers and the registration are the agency's, and your admin is the one to ask.
