Where do I put a webhook so leads come in on their own?
Every lead source here has its own address. Create it on Import Leads, paste it into the system that sends you leads, and leave the switch on. A campaign has the same address on its Settings tab.
Who this is for
Whoever set the source up. A campaign's address is shown to an admin or to the person who created that campaign, and to nobody else.
Steps
- Open Import Leads. On the card "Connect a live feed", name the feed, choose what the leads are for, and press "Connect it".
- Under "Your live feeds", open the feed and copy "Your address". Paste it into the other system (your lead vendor, form or funnel) as the place it sends leads. It takes a POST with JSON.
- Leave the "Accepting leads" switch on. That switch is what turns the feed on and off; there is no separate webhook switch.
- Send one test lead from the other system. The feed says "Waiting for your first lead" until it lands, then "Connected".
For a campaign that already exists: open the campaign, go to its Settings tab, and open the section "Landing page & webhook". The "Webhook URL" there is the address to give your lead vendor. The "Accept leads" switch is in the "Campaign" section of the same tab.
If the address is not shown
The feed or campaign was set up by someone else on your team, so its address is theirs to share. Ask an admin or the person who created it, or connect a feed of your own on Import Leads.
What to send
name, phone and email are always accepted. Anything else you send is kept on the lead too. The feed shows a sample of what to send next to the address.
How to check it worked
- Send one test lead from the other system and watch the feed change from "Waiting for your first lead" to "Connected".
- Open the lead that arrived and check the name and phone are the ones you sent.
Common mistakes
- Looking for a webhook on/off switch. The switch is "Accepting leads" (on a feed) or "Accept leads" (on a campaign).
- Pasting the address into a browser. It only takes a POST from the other system.
